How does it work?
COACHING SAFARI
March 12th to 13th, 2025 in Zurich, Switzerland
You will attend a two-day coaching safari in Zurich. During these days, professional coaches will evaluate your idea.
Coaching sessions on the following topics will take place:
- What’s your perfect market fit?
- What cutting-edge technology do you need?
- How can you boost your customer support?
- How can you craft your compelling value proposition?
- How can you sharpen your carbon impact claim?
At the end of the coaching safari, a customized support package is assembled for you.

Belimo Climate Foundation nominates participants through a curated selection process.
Scouting
The following experts are involved for the scouting, evaluation, and nomination of the ventures to decarb KICK.

The expert panel receives recommendations from the Belimo network and partners and uses a professional market intelligence tool.

The expert panel selects startups, spin-offs, and business ideas in the following categories:
Decarbonization Planning Tools – Solutions that help assess a building, provide recommendations for action, and support implementation.
Smart Building Management Solutions – Solutions that help monitor energy flows in a building, create transparency, and manage them.
Component Innovations – Solutions that improve energy efficiency in generation, storage, distribution, and consumption.
System Innovations – Solutions that enhance the capabilities of existing systems through intelligent combinations.
Selection
The expert panel selects ventures based on the following criteria.
The startup, spin-off, or business idea…
… must be capable of achieving a significant CO2 reduction.
… is geographically located in the EMEA region.
… has not yet reached the maximum funding stage of a “seed round.”
… has a company size of 2 to a maximum of 10 employees.
… would benefit from the network of the Belimo Climate Foundation.
… would benefit from the opportunity to conduct a pilot project.
… would benefit from support in scaling up to industrial production.
…would benefit from the recognition of an industry leader.
